FINALIZED the “CYCLING FOR A BETTER CITY LULEBURGAZ” PROJECT SUPPORTED by CREATIVE INDUSTRIES FUND NETHERLANDS, FEBRUARY 12, 2020
The closing meeting of our “CYCLING FOR A BETTER CITY LULEBURGAZ” Project that was funded by Creative Industries Fund of Netherlands was held on February 12th, 2020 in Luleburgaz. The project was run by the consortium of Sustainable Solutions from Netherlands, Artgineering from Belgium and Novusens Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute from Turkey. The event was started by the courtesy visit to Deputy Mayor of Luleburgaz, Erol Ozgur. Then, Inclusive Bicycle Master Plan was presented by Artgineering and Novusens to all of the local stakeholders at LYKA (Luleburgaz Women Academy). The meeting was attended by Luleburgaz municipality management and representatives, government agencies and institution representatives and experts, bicycle NGOs and volunteers.
The project that was started on October 2018 having 4 workshops and field studies in Luleburgaz with the participation and collaboration of all the local stakeholders. The outcome of the project,“Inclusive Bicycle Masterplan” was developed as a design guide handbook that consists of the investigation on how to activate the full potential of cycling for the improvement of various aspects of urban development. The project explores cycling as a catalyst for a change towards a more sustainable, healthy, vital, inclusive and democratic urban environment and society.
We wish Inclusive Bicycle Master Plan a model for the the mid-sized cities across Turkey.
